Residents of West Davis are taking action to help return a full-service grocery store to serve the 11,000 residents who live west of Highway 113. Part of this effort will include raising funds for community outreach and surveys, to help pay for economic studies and perhaps seed capital to entice a grocer or member-owned operation to locate at the Westlake Plaza Shopping Center. The community group that is spearheading this effort, Davis Advocates for Neighborhood Groceries (DANG), has established a non-profit corporation, a local bank account and is in the process of preparing solicitation materials.
